About Habit Goals

Habit Goals is the habit-tracking app and web service where you can track daily habits, set goals, and view progress. This page explains how to request that we delete your account and the data associated with it.

Steps to request account deletion

From the app: If you are signed in, go to Profile and click Delete account at the bottom of the page. Your account and data will be deleted immediately after you confirm.

Alternatively, you can request deletion by email:

  1. Open the Habit Goals app or website and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to Profile (in the app menu or dashboard).
  3. Send an email to support@habit-goals.com with the subject "Request to delete my account" and include the email address associated with your Habit Goals account.
  4. We will confirm your identity and then process your deletion request. We will reply to confirm once your account and data have been deleted (or inform you of any legal retention that applies).

If you cannot sign in (e.g. you lost access), send an email from the same email address you used to register, stating that you wish to delete your Habit Goals account. We will verify and process the request.

Data we delete

When we delete your account, we will delete or anonymize the following data associated with your account:

  • Account data: Your email address and authentication records.
  • Usage data: Your habits, goals, activity logs (dates, duration, notes), progress, achievements, and any other data stored in your Habit Goals account.
  • Profile data: Profile settings (theme, language, etc.) and subscription-related identifiers we store (e.g. subscription ID for Pro).

Data we may retain

We may retain the following for legal, accounting, or security reasons:

  • Payment and subscription records: If you had a paid (Pro) subscription, we and our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) may retain transaction and subscription records for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically several years). This does not include your habit or activity data, which we delete.
  • Backups: Deleted data may remain in backups for a limited period (e.g. up to 30–90 days) until backups are rotated; after that it is removed.
  • Legal obligations: Where we are required to retain certain data by law (e.g. for disputes or regulatory requests), we will retain only what is necessary and delete it when the obligation ends.

Timeline

We aim to process account deletion requests within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days). You will receive a confirmation once the deletion has been completed. If you have an active subscription, cancellation of the subscription is separate (you can cancel via the "Manage subscription" option in Profile); account deletion will still be processed as above.
